Is that the lack of patience or absence of Management skills? I have not even started writing this article and comments seem to be appearing on my new blog. Many Thanks for the contribution.

Getting back to the topic which talks about the Management of people one can say it is the hardest thing to do or for some it is probably the easiest. Most managers are really bad at managing people as they are always worried about saving their grace before their Managers and have no clue of anything. Some managers are generally good people as humans but are terrible managers and pick on pity little matters to annoy staff.

In my opinion this does not motivate people. Motivation is an ongoing process and I believe your working environment motivates you to perform better or in many cases get on well with your duties. Managers just have to add value to it and make it pleasant. So what is lacking in them? Clearly decent Management skills, they have no clue (The lack know how) and perhaps they got the position because their face fits well.

So, how can you be a good Manager? Well I think it’s a good idea to look for your weaknesses you need to be open and unbiased to yourself. Interact with people in your team (if you have one) or the people that report directly to you. Have direct communication with people that increases interactivity and melts the ice. This is very Important! Build trust amongst people tell them what their boundaries are but don’t impose “unfair and petty” rules on them. Be firm when needed but don’t wind people up unnecessarily.

A Good Manager - Dos and Donts

I used to think good Managers are made through experience and age. From my personal experience I would disagree as age has probably small part to play in it. If you want to step up to the ladder then I would say be a people's person I am not saying be a celebrity but to be encouraging and a positive communicator. Create a trustworthy environment around you knowing that in your absence the work will get done. Nagging and Cynicism will not help at all. Listen to others; tell others you care about them and let them voice their opinions. Managerial training and books also help. Key: Ask them how they are motivated. Be positive and be a Doer (produce results), focus on positivity and lead by example.
